Seats of state medical colleges were filled according to exam conducted by state government. But Since 2016 only single exam was conducted for colleges under state and central government ie NEET (National Eligiblity Cum Entrance Exam Test). But JIPMER and AIIMS were excluded from NEET. They were conducting seperate entrance exam for seat allotment of their colleges. From 2020 JIPMER & AIIMS are also including in NEET conducted by
