From its onset, Cricket has been a sport played with emphasis on acting as a gentleman and being fair. The phrase “It is not Cricket” captures this essence beautifully. Virtues like giving the benefit of the doubt, both in cricket and everyday life create friendship and harmony. Other sports have rules as well but cricket has its own culture. Gradually the culture is changing with influences like excessive celebration in other sports and players not acting as gentlemen all the time. GPCL strives to revive the true spirit of cricket with respect and equality for all the teams and their members. Being democratic, transparent and adherence to the true spirit of cricket are the principles that this league vows to uphold.
